Very interesting photo… I love the green. Is this a cicada? It looks like the husk of a cicada. If it is …it’s like a snake then..shedding its skin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada

Don’t know what it is, but I don’t think it has shed the skin. It has the claws, tentacles all in tact. So I guess he just died and got stuck that way in the tree somehow.
